Hi I’m Lex, mother of three, and the founder of Altered Apparel!
Altered Apparel is a breast-feeding clothing brand. I’m originally a photographer (trained in Fashion Photography), and wanted to find a way to give Mums the confidence to feed wherever and whenever they wanted (as I initially struggled with this when I had my son).
When I was breastfeeding I struggled to find clothing which felt like ‘me’ and was functional for feeding.
I felt like the need for function had overtaken style. So, I set out to remedy this, and Altered Apparel was born! My collections focus on both style and ensuring that the clothes are totally suitable to breastfeed in. All our clothes – from our t shirts to jumpers, and our best selling jumper dress – have discrete side access zips which make feeding easy and as discreet as you wish.
I am also super passionate about sustainability.
All of my clothing is produced here in the UK to support our great fashion manufacturing industry, and to ensure that my products are always fairly and ethically made.
Every single item of my clothing is produced and manufactured within 2h drive from where I am based, which I am really proud of.
So if you are a mum or soon to be mum and want to treat yourself to some sustainable/ethical breastfeeding clothing, or if you’d like to treat someone to an original, super thoughtful gift please check us out!
