Baby Massage is a really lovely class to do when your baby is young. They are calm, quiet and relaxing – you can bond with your baby whilst meeting and chatting to other local parents and carers.
Sheila Williams runs regular Baby Massage classes in Macclesfield. here, she tells us all about her, her experience and what you can expect when you go along to one of her classes…….
“Towards the end of my career working with children and families as a health visitor and specialist nurse for cared for children I feel passionately about the value of touch, early communication and emotional connection to the healthy development of babies and children.
This has led me to train with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) and become a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI). Training with IAIM was a great experience, it has helped me to learn much more about the benefits of touch and baby massage.
IAIM’s purpose is to promote nurturing touch and communication through training, education and research so that parents, caregivers and children are loved, valued and respected throughout the world community.
This means that I can now offer small friendly supportive group classes consisting of 5 weekly sessions using the IAIM programme with up to eight parents and their pre-crawling babies in community venues. Massage oil, handouts and refreshments are provided.
In addition I have a special interest in adoptive babies and children as well as children with special needs.
If you have any special requirements please ask.
