The Bear Festival returns for the ninth time on Saturday July 13 and will run until Saturday August 10. Residents display bears in their gardens and Bear Hunters try to find all of them, record them on the grid and enter to find the Hunter with the most bears. There is a cash prize for the most bears found! Hunters can also vote for their favourite bears.
In addition there are family-friendly events every weekend. On Sunday 14 July there will be a picnic after church, followed by bears parachuting from the church tower. On Saturday 20 there will be a Bear Sports afternoon on the Rectory lawn. The 27 July sees the ever-popular Car Treasure Hunt with a Barbecue and Beer Tent. August 3 sees afternoon tea at Dukes Oak with a Tree Trail and bears in trees. On August 10, Christmas comes to Brereton! Our Grande Finale on the Rectory lawn will have mince pies, mulled wine, a Christmas tree with all the trimmings and trappings – including a visit from Santa.
