It’s fantastic to be able to get out and about with the family, and to see our much loved local businesses opening their doors once again!
Most places currently need to be prebooked – which might mean you’re left at a loose end if you haven’t got yourself sorted in time! With this in mind, we’ve pulled together these ideas for local days out which don’t need to be prebooked.
Please bear in mind that social distancing restrictions still apply and many of these places may be busy

⭐️Melody Mouse, Holmes Chapel, Wilmslow and Sandbach
Ok so not a day out as such but we know a lot of Mumblers who don’t want to, or can’t commit to a full term of classes, are struggling whilst many of our local playgroups aren’t running. Melody Mouse classes offer a Pay as you Go option and you can book onto a class right up to an hour before it starts! (space permitting).
Melody Mouse classes are mixed age classes so they’re great for families with more than one little one at home and include Music, crafts and a cuppa for the grown ups – perfect! For more information click here.
⭐️Blakemere Village Superhero and Princess Trail and Funfair
Various dates until August 2021
Children complete interactive activities throughout the trail and in the ‘Fantasy Forest’ to claim their reward at the end!
Sharland’s Funfair is open every weekend and school holidays from 11.30am until late (please confirm with venue before you travel).
The Village also has a playground and fairy trail in the woods.

⭐️Waterworld, Stoke on Trent
You can either prebook or pay on the day, but pre booked tickets receive priority access before the walk in admissions. Once the online ticket holders for that particular slot are admitted, the walk in customer queue is then opened.

⭐️Runway Visitor Park
There’s no need to book (except for aircraft tours which you can book in advance or on the day subject to availability) – just turn up on the day to see 100’s pf planes arriving and landing. Various attractions available depending on the day including outdoor play area and fun fair -please check with the venue directly whats happening on your chosen day.

⭐️Walton Hall and Gardens, Warrington
Most areas are open including The Children’s Zoo, Children’s Playground, Pitch and Putt and Adventure Golf. There is a new ‘High Ropes’ adventure course which they recommend you book in advance.

⭐️Brookside Miniature Railway
Famous railway circuit 3/4 mile in length which runs around the perimeter of Brookside Garden Centre.
Open Thursday to Sunday at the time of writing, 10.30-4. No pre-booking – simply buy a ticket from the Station doorway.

⭐️Handforth Miniature Railway
Meet Rusty, Gordon, Romulus and Lostock! Rides are free as always but donations to the running of the club are greatly appreciated.

Steam train ride by beautiful Rudyard Lake in North Staffordshire is a great family day out ideal for kids.Steam trains gives scenic 3 mile round trip along the lake.
