Hi, I’m Lisa. I have taught dance for 18 years, teaching in a high school for the last 12 years and leading a performing arts department. I have seen first-hand the incredible impact performing arts can have on children’s confidence, self-esteem and well-being. I have a passion for providing students of all abilities with performance opportunities. It is this passion that has seen me take the step to launch Echo Performing Arts Academy.
Based at Festival Hall Alderley Edge we will provide high quality dance, drama and singing lessons to children aged 3-16 years old.
Our very first classes took place in February half-term. I was blown away with the quality of performance the children that attended produced over the two days. You can see a short video of their amazing achievements here.
We obviously had to do things a bit differently for our Summer classes and we weren’t able to showcase the children’s work to an audience at the end of the two days. However, I truly believe in the positive impact performance opportunities can have on children. So, we paired up with Cinemac Macclesfield and recorded the performance so that the children and their families could enjoy the performance on the big screen before watching a family film!
From September, our Saturday morning classes will run for 5-11 years old (this will increase to 5-16 years old when current social distancing guidance changes) and we’ll be running a Thursday morning pre-school class.
All my fellow teachers and I are fully qualified and have years of teaching experience both in primary and secondary school. We cannot wait to get started and share our passion, enthusiasm and love for the arts, see the positive impact it has on the children, and develop some stars of the future.
Please feel free to contact me by any of the methods below – I’d love to hear from you!
Lisa xx
