If, like us, your house is full of boxes from a little one’s lockdown birthday, you’ll be pleased to know that tips and recycling centres will reopen on Monday 11th May.
There will, however, be restrictions. Only cars will be allowed in – that means no pedestrians, vans or commercial vehicles are permitted. You can also expect a long wait due to the ‘one in one out’ system which is being put in place.
Further restrictions include –
- A maximum of 2 people per car;
- You may be asked for proof of address.
- No children. If young children can’t be left home alone, they must stay in the car;
- Permitted days will be dependant on your car registration number – please check the council’s website for further details before you travel;
- Staff are not permitted to assist with the handling of any items.
We are, however, being asked to keep our recycling at home insofar as possible to minimise the amount the council has to send to landfill.
