Valentines Day is set to be another event spent at home in lockdown….! Worry not though, we’ve put together some ideas to ensure the day is still fun and special.
We’ll be busy updating this Blog all the way up to the Big Day so keep checking back for more inspiration!
❤️ Food Glorious Food!
Treat yourself and your partner to a day full of delicious treats. Breakfast in bed complete with bucks fizz (why not go all out and fry the eggs/cut the toast in heart shapes?!)….get afternoon tea delivered from a local supplier and finish off with a restaurant quality dinner delivered to your door by your favourite local restaurant.
❤️ A Nice Tipple
All that food needs to be washed down with something pretty special. Lots of local breweries are offering home delivery of their much loved ales, beers and spirits to bring the pub to your living room. Alternatively (or as well as!), buy a cocktail set and mix up a storm – perfect for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic creations. Put on some of your favourite tunes and have a living room disco whilst sampling your beverages!
❤️ Get Dressed Up
Whatever you’re doing, why not step away from the loungewear and pop on something different for the event?! A nice outfit always makes things feel a bit more special.
❤️ Go For a Romantic Walk
Wrap up warm and head out for a bracing local walk – a great way to blow off the cobwebs and work up an appetite for all the delicious food you’re going to enjoy!
❤️ Treat Yourself to Something a bit Different
Lots of local companies are offering real treat experiences for you to enjoy in lockdown – think home cinemas or hot tubs (many will come and set them up for you, complete with fairy lights). For something you can do yourself for not much money, why not have a spa experience?! Run a hot bath, light a few candles, treat yourselves to some nice bath bombs or essential oils and enjoy a nice long soak. Wrap up in fluffy robes when you’re done and try some nice relaxing massage and general pampering. Lovely!
❤️ Support Local
Lots of local businesses will be offering perfect Valentines gifts – check out your local florist for beautiful flowers with a really personal touch, keep an eye on what treats local bakers are cooking up and try to source any other gifts (candles, chocolates, ale, anything really!) locally – they’ll really appreciate your support and the quality of their products is usually second to none.
❤️ Cosy up on the Sofa with a good film or show
We’ve probably all been spending more time not he sofa than we usually might (!!) but why not make it extra special for Valentines Day by splashing out and renting a film you’ve wanted to watch for ages or, if you enjoy the theatre and are missing being able to get to show, we’ve got details on how to see theatre show at home here. – many are for the whole family but there are a few which cater for adults!
