The circus came to Knutsford and caused quite a stir!! Mumbler Maria and her family went along to see what it was all about. Here’s how they got on….
“We were pretty excited to be invited along to Gandey’s Circus when it was visiting Knutsford. We’d heard really good things about it and WOW, we weren’t disappointed! What a great family night out we had! With promises of the ‘glamour and glitz of West End musicals’ and ‘over 200 lavish costumes in our theatre big top of wishes and dreams’, Gandey’s delivered and then some….!
I was reassured to find that no animals were used in the performance and, not being a big clown fan, I was surprised at how funny I found ‘Chico Rico’ the clown! Billed as “Europe’s favourite clown”, he managed to strike the perfect balance between slapstick comedy and creating a party atmosphere. He effortlessly drummed up audience participation and you only had to look around at all the kids’ faces and see they thought he was hilarious, especially when he got baby shark going!!
As is to be expected, the whole experience was super family friendly and Gandey’s had thought of most things a young family needs when out and about – plenty of room for parking the buggy, car parking on the field (it wasn’t toooo muddy), snacks, an interval for loo trips and face painting during the interval to keep the little ones occupied! You’re in a tent of course, so at times it got pretty warm and then you need to layer up to go out to the toilet – but all thats part of the charm of the circus!!
The draw of the circus has always been its atmosphere, sense of occasion and, of course, the acts, and Gandey’s takes it to a whole new level. They claim to ‘raise the bar sky-high, with thrills and laughter all the way, as you’re elevated to new heights of entertainment for the entire family – from the youngest member to the oldest’ and I have to agree – my husband and I loved it almost as much as the kids! The photos give just a glimpse of what’s in store – I haven’t included photos of everything as I really don’t want to take away the surprise. If you get the chance to experience Gandey’s please take it – rest assured your kids (and you!!) will love it!
Mumbler was invited to attend Gandey’s circus for the purpose of reviewing the experience but the views expressed here are entirely those of Maria and her lovely family.
