The Smile Group

❤️UPDATE DURING CORONAVIRUS While our groups and home visits are unable to run, we are here for you in other ways.

Sue & Bronya are offering to call, text or provide email support during group hours for anyone in Cheshire East who engages with our face-to-face services. Any new mums self referring or being referred by a health care professional will just need to register with us via email hello@thesmilegroup.org before we can provide assistance, as would be the case if you came to group for the first time.

It is so reassuring to hear a friendly voice on the end of a phone and to have support from someone who understands what you are going through, especially given the current circumstances. We would like to remind you that you’re not alone and that we are here.❤️

The SMILE Group was co-founded by Natalie Nuttall and Ruth Eglin in 2011 after they both experienced PND and felt passionate about the need for parents to benefit from sustained peer support at a local level.

When we set The SMILE Group up we wanted it to be a place where families can relax and not feel judged or intimidated in any way. The group is a drop-in format and there is no pressure to attend regularly.

We invite parents to chat, drink tea and there is always a welcoming smile and an open door. We also enable mums and dads to indulge in valuable ‘me’ time with sample complementary therapy treatments to bring a sense of wellbeing.

See the Smile Group’s website for information on the weekly meet ups in Macclesfield, Congleton and Sandbach.

Home-Start

Home-Start is one of the leading family support charities in the UK.

Families struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement and many other issues receive the support of a volunteer who will spend around two hours a week in a family’s home supporting them in the ways they need.
