It looks set to be a scorcher of a few days!! What better way to cool off with the little ones than to head to an outdoor pool or splash park? We’ve put together a list of local water spots (and a few a little further afield in case you fancy venturing further out) to help you make the most of the sunshine and cool down when things get too hot!
💦 Congleton Paddling Pool
This large outdoor paddling pool is open seven days a week from 10 – 6, weather permitting. Congleton Park is a stones throw away so take a picnic and make a day of it.
The pool is free to use (but you need to book) and there’s a free car park but its fairly small and you’ll be lucky to get a space on busy days – park on nearby roads (although a lot is residents only) or in town centre car parks.
💦 Church Walk Paddling Pool, Northwich
A large free paddling pool – open Monday to Friday 12 noon to 5pm, Saturday to Sunday 12 noon to 5pm throughout summer. Opening times are dependant on weather so keep an eye on the Facebook page which posts regular updates re opening.
Parking in nearby public car parks. Food and drink available.

💦 Nantwich Outdoor Brine Pool
Heated outdoor pool with set timetable of swimming times so please check which sessions are on before you head off.
Food and drink available. Sun loungers and grassy area to lie on towels.

💦 Manley Mere, Frodsham
Further afield but a bit different so worth a mention. Cheshire Aquapark at Manley Mere is huge floating assault course and bills itself as ‘an aquatic adventure like no other’.
Features include giant trampolines, inflatable climbing walls and blast bags to be catapulted off. Suitable for ages 8 and over and booking is advised.
You can make a proper day of it by a walk around the Adventure Track and hiring canoes or paddle boards.
Costs £20 for a 50 minute session.

💦 Marbury Pool, Cheshire
Open air pool set in the grounds of Marbury Country Park near Northwich. Surrounded by lawned gardens and woodland and a has a children’s paddling pool and play area nearby. Lots of picnic tables and food and drink can be purchased from the small shop. Pool isn’t heated but still gets very busy.
Only members are guaranteed entry and there is a limited number of entrants per day so please check social media for updates on busy days as tickets may sell out. There may also be a long wait on the gate. To stand the best chance of getting in during the peak summer period, the pool management recommend that you arrive at the pool for visitor opening time – 1pm in May and noon in June, July and August. Sundays are for members only.

💦 Hall Leys Park, Matlock
Hall Leys Park has just ben recognised as one of the best in the world for the 12th year running by being awarded another Green Flag Award by the Keep Britain Tidy Group.
There are fountains and an interactive wet play area with splash pool for kids.
Other attractions include play area, miniature railway and boating lake.
Food and drink available in the cafe.

This is a large, heated outdoor pool which has a park next door. Food and drink available at the poolside cafe.
